My wife Cara and I will have an opportunity to work with an orphanage in Guatemala doing self identifying reflective artwork that is personal and explorative.
This camp organized by the non-profit Athentikos really speaks to our hearts as we aim to live our lives to empower men, women and children through the arts and education. You may know I, Cara have dedicated my career to youth development and currently work in a GED program for teen parents. My husband ChristopherAaron has also dedicated his career to education and art as a muralist, painter and administrator in the Minneapolis Public Schools. Christopheraaron and I believe that our calling with youth in the area of the arts will be expanded during this life changing journey to Guatemala. We will be teaching and helping in workshops each day to help children discover their uniqueness and explore their personal stories. Our goal is to help each child find the art within so they can change the way they view the world around them. We are passionate about going on this trip because we will help kids discover who they are in God's greater story and unlock the possibilities of what they can be. There are several ways you can participate in this mission. Our most important request is for prayer, specifically for the safety of the travelling team and for the children to experience the love of Christ and embrace His plan for their lives. I also, want to invite you to invest financially in the trip. Like any mission trip there are expenses for travel, supplies, boarding, etc. We need to raise $4000 to cover my costs for the trip. We would be honored if you would consider supporting this project through a tax-deductible donation.
